Adorable moment elephant uses his trunk as a snorkel in Texas

Asian elephant Colonel, 29, battles the hot weather by lying on the floor of his splash pool at Fort Worth Zoo in Texas. An adorable video, taken at the zoo’s offsite-facility, shows the five-tonne elephant use his trunk as a snorkel when taking a dip in the five-foot-deep water. Colonel playfully rolls around in the water to cool off, creating quite the splash, and even takes a quick underwater nap. Colonel is one of seven Asian elephants housed at Fort Worth Zoo. The zoo is open to the public but due to quarantine restrictions, visitors must reserve a time slot online before hitting the exhibits.
